Library services at the university are provided by a  qualified personnel of 7 people.

The fundamental quality improvement of information and library service is considered as a transition to the new format of the library by providing services on  both traditional information carrying media and in electronic form, the transition from a model  using only its stocks  to the model of open  library, deploying external resources. This will lead to a qualitatively new level of information support for users.
Library services are available to all registered readers of university library.  The Library readers are students, MA students,  doctorate PhDs, the faculty, researchers and university staff.

At the reader’s  request the  library can provide the following assistance in giving:

• complete information on the generic  composition of the library stock via the online catalog and other forms of library informing;
• a list of new acquisitions, references in subjects;
• consultation on independent work with literature, on searching for documents in the SBA, preparation of  registration lists, etc.;
• literature on the theme of interest;
• reference and analytical services: clarifying and address reference, topical bibliographies and indexes, factographic   information, etc.;
• information on library activities and participation opportunities;
• a copy of the document;
• the temporary use of books, electronic resources, periodicals and other documents from  the library stock:

a) in the library, reading rooms without removal;

b)at the subscription for reading at home;

Library services can be provided in the form of exhibitions of new acquisitions, topical exhibitions dedicated to significant and memorable days and  a permanent exhibition of faculty works, materials of scientific conferences, journals "Vestnik of UIB".

There is an electronic catalog in the library to search for relevant literature. The electronic catalog is installed on computers in the subscription and reading room. The electronic catalog allows  to search for books by several criteria. There are also issued bulletins of new acquisitions, reference lists on various subjects for  literature search. Librarians give oral information, help with the selection of books, and recommend new books. There is free access to the Internet for prompt information delivery in the library, and the electronic library is also at the reader’s disposal. The database of electronic library includes both books of university faculty, and variety of  additional resources from other libraries.
