Educational process organization on training credit technology
Fundamental regulations
- The training credit technology is carried out on the basis of a choice and independent planning of disciplines sequence studying with credit usage by a student as a unified measure unit of educational work volume of a student and a teacher.
- Under training credit technology an account of labor input of educational work is carried out according to a material volume which is being taught and measured in credits.
- The training credit technology is accumulative that means a mounting account the earlier mastered credits on all educational levels.
- The university provides educational process with information sources completely: textbooks, manuals, methodical grants and developments on academic subjects, active distributing materials and instructions on independent work, electronic textbooks, and access to network educational resources.
- Each student is provided with a directory-guidebook for all period of training.
- The primary goals of the university under educational process organization with usage of credit technology are:
- Unification of knowledge volume;
- Creation of conditions for training maximum individualization;
- Role strengthening and independent work efficiency of a student;
- Revealing of students’ real educational achievements of on the basis of effective procedure of their control.
- Educational process organization within the limits of one academic year is carried out on the basis of the academic calendar which is affirmed by the rector of the university, on the basis of academic council decision.
- An academic year consists of academic periods, periods of intermediate certification, vacations and practice. On a final year a period of total certification is included into academic year.
- Introduction of a summer semester is supposed except for a final year lasting up to 6 weeks to meet requirements for additional training, liquidation of academic debts or a difference in curricula, studying academic subjects in coordination with other higher schools and mastery of credits by students, with obligatory re-reckoning of them in their higher school.
- Educational classes are spent mainly in active creative forms (case-study, business games, trainings, debates, round tables, seminars).
- Educational classes are organized:
- for full-time course students – in one or in two changes from 8.00 o'clock till 18.30 o'clock;
- for evening mode students – in one change from 19.00 o'clock till 22.00 o'clock;
- for correspondence students – during a day from 8.00 o'clock till 20.00 o'clock depending on availability of empty lecture rooms.
- Academic streams and groups are formed according to a principle of sufficient number of students registered in the discipline and sufficient level of their profitability.Number of students for an academic stream and a group is defined by the university independently.
- Under training credit technology independent work of students is subdivided into two parts: for the independent work which is carried out under direction of a teacher, and that part which is carried out completely independently.
- Educational achievements (knowledge, abilities, skills and competence) of students are estimated in points on a 100-mark scale, corresponding to the alphabetic system accepted in the international practice (positive estimations, in process of decrease, from "A" to «D», “unsatisfactory" – «F») with a corresponding digital equivalent on 4 mark scales.
- Organization of monitoring system of educational achievements of students is carried out by office of the Registrar who submits to the vice-rector on educational and methodical work.
- The teacher who trains spends all kinds of current and control test and deduces a corresponding estimation of students’ current progress (an average arithmetic estimation out of current and control tests). At the same time educational achievements of students are estimated according to a 100-mark scale for each carried out task.
- Total estimation on discipline includes estimations of current progress and total control (examination mark). Estimation share of current progress makes up not less than 60 % in a total estimation of mastery degree of educational subject program by a student. Estimation of total control makes up not less than 30 % of a total estimation of knowledge on the educational subject.
- Positive total estimation causes addition of the mastered credits with the established quantity of credits on corresponding discipline and is brought in transcript of a student. If a student gets estimation "unsatisfactorily" under the total control (examination), total estimation on the discipline is not calculated.
- Repeated examination of a positive estimation under the total control to increase intermediate certification during the period is not authorized.
- Under state educational grant following intermediate certification results a scholarship is charged providing all examinations passing with estimations "A", "A-", «B +», "B", "B-".
- Following the results of an academic year taking into account results of a summer semester office of the Registrar counts an average mark of progress (GPA) as an average estimation of educational achievements level of a student.
- To transfer from a course on a course in a profile of courses a transferrable point has been fixed by the university – amount of the minimum average mark of progress supposing transfer of a student on the following course.
- A student executed the course program in a full volume, but was not able to get a transferrable point, a possibility is given repeatedly to study separate disciplines on a paid basis in a summer semester (except for the discipline «History of Kazakhstan» on which graduation examination is passed) to increase an average mark of progress (GPA) and repeatedly to pass examinations on them.
- A student who did not get the transferrable point following the results of an academic year taking into account results of a summer semester remains on a repeated curriculum.
- A student left on a repeated curriculum under the state educational order loses the state educational grant for a further period of training.
- The basic criterion of educational process completeness on bachelor’s preparation is a mastery of not less than 129 credits of theoretical training by a student, and also not less than 6 credits of practice, not less than 2 credits for preparation, writing and protection of degree work (project) and not less than 1 credit for preparation and passing of graduation examination on a specialty.
